As a member of the Rotary Club of Lethbridge for 3 years, I've had the privilege of being part of projects that truly make a difference in our community, and beyond. Rotary has given me a sense of fellowship and purpose that extends far beyond my day-to-day work. The Blue & Gold Gala is one of those special events that captures everything I love about being a Rotarian.
Why Rotary Matters to Me
When I talk to others about being a member of the Rotary Club of Lethbridge, it's natural to mention the networking and business connections, but what keeps most members engaged and motivated, is the people—folks from all different backgrounds and industries who share a common commitment to making Lethbridge and the world a better place.
Rotary projects have taught me that giving back doesn't have to be complicated. Sometimes it's about showing up, rolling up your sleeves, and being part of something bigger than yourself. That sense of fellowship and shared purpose is what gives me true joy.
The Blue & Gold Gala: Purpose Meets Celebration
This year's Blue & Gold Gala is the kind of initiative that reminds me why I'm proud to be a Rotarian. This event is an evening that celebrates Ukrainian resilience while raising funds for our future and ongoing projects. The Ukrainian people have shown incredible resilience in the face of unimaginable challenges, and here in Lethbridge, we have many Ukranian families that we’ve worked with to help them land and settle into, and adjust to a new place to call home. As we wrap up our multi-year project supporting Ukrainian evacuees, this gala allows us to celebrate their culture while continuing our commitment to meaningful causes. The funds raised will launch our new initiative supporting the Southern Alberta Cardiac Center of Excellence, while also funding our ongoing youth projects both locally and internationally.
What I appreciate most about this event is how it combines celebration with real impact. There will be traditional Ukrainian performances, authentic cuisine, and a chance to experience a culture that values family and community—values that align with everything Rotary stands for. But beyond the evening's entertainment, we're making a tangible difference in our community and beyond.
Corporate Sponsorship
Being "Boldly Committed" isn't just our company tagline—it's how I try to approach both business and community service. Sponsoring this gala allows me to align my business values with my personal commitment to Rotary's mission.
I also want my team at Vanquished Construction to see that we're part of something larger. Yes, we build great projects and serve our clients well, but we're also invested in making Lethbridge a stronger, more connected community.
An Invitation to Join Us
Whether you're involved in Rotary, own a business in Lethbridge, or simply care about giving back, I'd encourage you to attend the Blue & Gold Gala. You don't need to be a member or a sponsor to make a difference—your presence and participation matter.
For me, events like this are what make Rotary membership so rewarding. It's not just about writing cheques or attending meetings. It's about being part of a group that consistently shows up for the community, that celebrates diversity and culture, and that takes action when it's needed most.
For more information about the gala or tickets, contact the Rotary Club of Lethbridge. I hope to see you there—and if you've ever been curious about Rotary, come talk to me. I'd be happy to share why it's become such an important part of my life.
